EL FIN DEL MUNDO
Chapbook written, illustrated and letterpress printed
by Britt Browne & Joel Larson
Published at The Taos Mountain Art Farm
January 2008

"Our revels now are ended: these our actors, as I foretold you, were all spirits, and are melted into air, into thin air: and, like the baseless fabric of this vision the cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, the solemn temples, the great globe itself, yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, and like this insubstantial pageant faded, leave not a rack behind: we are such stuff as dreams are made of, and all our little life is rounded with a sleep."
- William Shakespeare

The Tempest Act IV Scene I

BREAD BREAKING
ROUND WONDER
limited edition of 250 bread bags

Silkscreen printed for Panadero
Fresh Breads and Pastries
203 North Winooski Ave
Burlington, Vermont

Panadero is my local bread and pastry shop located in the Old North End of Burlington, Vermont. David and Lindsay, the owners of Panadero, gave me the freedom to print prose for a limited edition on their baguette bags. The opportunity to create and print words about breaking bread, revolution and man being the wonderworker was so empowering! I hope the energy and joy that I feel from this collaboration with Panadero will be felt in my community as they eat their daily bread this winter.

BREAD BREAKING
When I hear bread breaking I see something else: it almost seems as if God never meant us to do anything else. So beautiful a sound. The crust breaks up like manna and falls all over everything and then we eat: bread gets inside humans. -Daniel Berrigan

ROUND WONDER
What kind of revolution would it be if all the people in the whole wide world would sit around in a circle and eat together? -unknown author
Whenever a man comes, there comes revolution. Man is the wonderworker. -Emerson

BLUEBERRY DYE WORKSHOP
August 4th, 2007
Adam's Berry Farm

As many of you know, I have been working on Adam's Berry Farm this summer in Burlington Vermont. I'm interested in using natural dyes and pigments in my own work, the craft of dying from ancient agricultural traditions around the world and the expression of these cultures through patterns and prints.

On August 4th, I will be hosting a Blueberry Dye Workshop on the farm with Adam's berries. It is going to be a beautiful day of native northeastern berry blues, reds and purples.

Bring any natural fiber or fabric you wish to experiment with and come workshop with us!

RSVP to britt@thepapermoonproject.com as space will be limited.
Please visit www.adamsberryfarm.com for directions to the farm.

MEGAN AND ERIC NORDVEDT'S WEDDING PROGRAM
silkscreen
5½ x "

I made these programs for my sister Megan's wedding. She and Eric got married at the Arroyo Hondo Preserve located along the Gaviota Coast in California under the most incredible eucalyptus tree. Afterwards, we celebrated in the citrus orchard and danced under the stars.
It was a magical night to be back in California in the canyons on the coast with my family.

SIMPLY STUNNING SILKSCREEN
Martha Stewart Weddings
Summer 2007

The Paper Moon Project is proud to be a part of the Summer 2007 Martha Stewart Weddings, Simply Stunning Silkscreen story. Turn to page 286 and you will see a variety of different ways to screen print. Designs range from art nouveau botanicals, trompe l'oeil place cards and settings, Mexican paper flags and bright block type. The best part of the story is that you can learn how to silkscreen at home. One thing that I love about reading Martha Stewart is that she explains and shows her readers how to make things - you can do it yourself!
I hope you feel inspired and empowered after reading the story to take silkscreen printing into your own hands.

Please call or email me if you are interested in having a personal project silkscreen printed or if you would like to order a screen to print in your own home.

MONOGRAM WEDDING STATIONERY SUITE
Martha Stewart Weddings
Spring 2007

I just picked up my very own copy of the
Spring 2007 Martha Stewart Weddings issue - with my monogram stationery suite on page 281! It was very exciting to see it amongst the work of such talented stationers and designers. I also loved seeing silkscreen for the first time in a stationery story opposite letterpress. There is such a beautiful contrast between the two.

Please call or email me if you are interested in my monogram suite for your wedding or any other special occasion.

CHARLOTTE KENDRICK
North of New York

Here I go announcing the release of Charlotte's new album, North of New York, as I send off the final file to print! If you haven't listened to her yet, check her out. Her voice sounds like honey and her arrangements are orchestrated beautifully. Visit her website to purchase her album ... www.charlottekendrick.com

I took the cover shot on this gorgeous summer day. We had so much fun shooting. From the hill of dandelions, to rolling around with the lilacs, breaking sticks at the creek and those fantastic ice cream cones for the train... I really enjoyed being a part in the making of this album.

EVERGREEN SHOW

Evergreen
limited edition of 25 prints
16" x 22"

This past December, I was invited to be a part of a holiday show featuring a talented group of New York City sustainable designers. In honor of the event, I created a limited edition "Evergreen" print. I was inspired by illustrations I found in medieval herbal manuscripts, health handbooks and in the tradition of Herbaria. My print depicts the rapport I believe we can have with nature—similar to the relationships I found illustrated in the ancient medieval plates.

One of the best parts about participating in the show was the group of New York sustainable designers. Sara Kirsner, creator of Doie Designs, has been a great friend of mine since our days back at UVM. Her energy, creativity, and her ability to design has always been inspiring to me—and now her commitment to using sustainable materials in her most recent line. I also ran into Isabelle Jud from Blessed Nest. She and I worked on Gregory Colbert's Ashes and Snow show in 2005. I have always admired her workmanship and to find out that she was now creating with sustainable materials was very exciting. Allison Teich, from aGainNYC, hosted the event. This is the first time I was introduced to her and the beautiful handbags that she makes from vintage fabrics.

Evergreen is for sale. Please contact me if you are interested.

THE ROGER BARKLEY COMMUNITY CENTER

On Your Mark
limited edition of 21 prints
15" x 11"

I've been designing the Roger Barkley Community Center program covers for a year and a half now. This is the first time the cover inspired a screenprint. "On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!" is this Winter Program's theme.

The Community Center is located in my home town of La Canada Flintridge, California. My sister Megan is the Activities Director. I am so proud of the work that she does in our community. Our continued collaboration together is one that I cherish.
I loved having the opportunity to illustrate my Paper Moon folk children in a print for the community that we grew up in.

Please email me for prices or if you are interested in taking a closer look.
